request的基本意思是“请求”,指有礼貌地、正式地要求,尤其适用于表示感到自己的要求因缺乏权威、手段或无法使对方感兴趣而可能得不到满足的情况,含有极有礼貌甚至讨好对方的意味。

request是及物动词,接名词、代词、动词不定式或that从句作宾语,从句中的谓语动词须用虚拟式。

request是表示愿望的动词,通常不用于进行体。

request后不能直接接“人”作简单宾语,但可接“sb+to- v ”构成的复合宾语。

request用作名词的基本意思是“要求,请求”,可用作可数名词,也可用作不可数名词,常与介词at, by, for, in, on连用构成介词短语。
