want可接由that引起的宾语从句,表示“请求,命令,建议”等,主要用于美式英语中。

want作“需要”解时,可接被动形式的动词不定式或主动形式的动名词。

want用于过去完成时,表示“未达到本来的愿望”。

want一般不用于进行体,但表示语气婉转时可用现在进行时或过去进行时。

want用作不及物动词时,多与介词for或in连用。

n.(名词)

析 want一般不用于进行体。只有在表示“一直…”“老是…”等感情或婉转语气时,才可用want的进行时态。

析 表示“(不)缺乏什么东西”,一般可说(not) want for sth,介词用for,不用of。
